The Man Behind
Eight Infinity
The network, the standards, and the conviction behind Eight Infinity's sourcing of rare European automotive parts.

Dieter Elsner
Founder & President
Dieter Elsner has spent his life in pursuit of the machines he loves. Born in Hamburg, Germany and raised in the postwar engineering culture of the Bundesrepublik, he developed an eye for European automotive craftsmanship before he was old enough to drive. He moved to the United States in the 1960s — but never truly left Germany. For more than six decades, Dieter has lived between continents, flying back to Hamburg several times a year, maintaining the relationships and instincts that only come from a lifetime spent inside the world of European cars.

The Hamburg Roots
To understand Eight Infinity, you have to understand where Dieter comes from. Hamburg in the postwar years was a city rebuilt by precision — shipyards, engineering houses, and the great German manufacturers whose names still define automotive excellence today. Dieter grew up surrounded by that culture. Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi — these were not distant luxury brands to him. They were the work of his countrymen, machines he understood by sound, by line, by the engineering principles behind them.
That fluency never left him. After moving to the United States, Dieter maintained his ties to Germany with deliberate care — returning often, keeping his contacts active, watching the industry evolve through more than five decades of change. The relationships he holds today with vendors, restorers, and specialists across Germany and the wider European market are not professional acquaintances. They are friends and colleagues spanning generations.
The Eight Infinity Vision
Eight Infinity is, in many ways, the consolidation of Dieter's life work. For decades he watched commercial operators in the United States struggle with the same problem: rare and specific European parts were available somewhere, but the network to find them, vet them, and bring them home was scattered across continents and languages.
Eight Infinity is the operation he wished had existed — built on the relationships he spent a lifetime cultivating, run with the precision he learned from the engineering culture he was raised in, and dedicated to the commercial specialists who need parts the rest of the market cannot provide. At 88 years old, Dieter brings something to this company that no startup, no algorithm, and no database can replicate: six decades of trust, taste, and judgment built one handshake at a time.
For Dieter, Eight Infinity is not a new chapter — it is a culmination.
